Extreme Heat Racing

Hello Johnny,

I understand you being concerned with the extreme heat this weekend, but we have been suffering through the heat every weekend. I wish that you would please give future consideration to starting races on the evening schedule, similiar to Wednesday night races, instead of cancelling important points races. If we don'tfinish by 11:00 PM then call the race. I really believe that the majority of racers and spectators would appreciate this, and show it by you getting a better turn out at the gates. We race on Saturday now so that people don't have to worry about lgetting to work the next morning, so I believe the late finish times shouldn't bother most. If junior dragster competitors need to be finished early, then run them first. Just hoping to catch your ear, not trying to make your decisions. I believe that all would benefit, including the business end.

Thanks in advance, for your consideration on this matter.

If (and when) heat continues to be a problem - we will consider other options such as those you suggest. One thing that hurts that for a day like the 24th is the temperatures are only going to be around 95 at 9 pm - not a lot of relief -

Another issue that hurts late night racing are some neighbors to the facility that have started raising some nightime noise issues - I am trying to walk a fine balance between doing the best thing for our track and racers and keeping the immediate community happy - I know that going to court over noise would only make things a lot harder on us at the track not to mention very expensive.

There are always many sides to an issue that we must consider when making changes to our facility and our programs -

Thanks
Johnny
