Participating drivers and crewmembers are strictly prohibited from
consuming drugs and alcoholic beverages
Auto Start: In accordance with IHRA Bracket
Rules, a ten second time out is in effect. The ten seconds begins
when both prestage bulbs are lit and one stage bulb is lit in either
lane. At this point the competitor that has not staged has ten
seconds to stage.
Burnouts: All cars are permitted to perform
burnouts in the designated areas only and only using water. Open
body cars may cross the starting line and no car may cross the
starting line under power. Top cars are allowed 1 backup, all other
cars are not allowed backups.
Bye Runs: The winner of the Bogey Race will
receive the bye run for first round. If an even number of cars run,
the bye run carries over until it is used or the competitor is
eliminated and the bye run driver always has lane choice. For second
round until the conclusion of the event, bye runs are determined by
the best reaction time from the previous round of competition and
the holder carries the bye until used or he/she is eliminated. You
can only receive one bye run per event and bye runs can be turned
down.
Children: Parents and guardians of children are
cautioned to keep close watch of their children throughout the race
day due to the high activity in the pit area and danger involved in
moving vehicles. Any Minor participating in racing events must have
a Minor Release on file at the track. Remember that you must have a
valid state drivers license to operate any wheeled vehicle including
but not limited to bicycles, ATV’s and other pitbikes. Roller
skates, roller blades, skateboards and things of the like are not
permitted on the track grounds.

to first round of eliminations and all protocols of IHRA must be
followed.
Curfew: Our curfew is 11 pm and every effort
will be made to complete the event prior to this time. This schedule
forces us to operate on a tight racing day and requires that you are
in the staging lanes at the appropriate times and prepared for
competition.
Dial Ins: Dial Ins are to be displayed on the
front window and passenger side window of the car in a clear format.
It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that the dial in can be
read from long distances and is clearly written between rounds. We
will make every attempt to clarify your dial in but the ultimate
responsibility is yours. Dial Ins will be displayed on scoreboards
prior to your run – please verify accuracy of your dial in before
pre-staging
Event Director Decisions: Every effort has been
made by Richmond Dragway to promote fair and honest events for all
participants however in the unlikely event of an electronic or
equipment malfunction, the decision of the Event Director is final.
According to the IHRA Rulebook, "The event director has the right
to waive, amend or modify any rule, for any single occurrence, for
any good reason and his or her decision is final."
Fluids: Please make every effort to contain
fluid spills and properly prepare your entry for competition by
utilizing proper preventative maintenance. Used fluids must be
disposed of properly. No antifreeze should be run in race vehicles.
No oil, gas or water should be spilled on the track, in the staging
lanes or in the pit area, If damages should occur on the track,
safely come to a complete stop on either side of the track and wait
for Race Official Assistance. Violators will be reprimanded or
disqualified based on circumstances–race official decision is final.
Lane Choice: Lane choice is determined by which
lane you enter as long as the two staging lanes of opposite sides
are full. You may not change lanes once you have come to a stop and
Top ET cars in lanes 1 &2 can not back up past the line in the back
of the lanes (lanes 3 & 4 may back up past the line if necessary).
If the lanes are in single file, lane choice will be determined by
the first car out of the lane. Once competitors are paired, lane
choice will be determined by the best reaction time from the
previous round of competition. Lanes 1,3,5, and 7 are right lane
while 2,4,6, and 8 are left lane. Final lane choice may be
determined by Officials.
Misconduct: Drivers are responsible for the
conduct of their crew members at all times. No switching of drivers
during eliminations and all participants in restricted areas must
sign proper insurance paperwork. Misconduct or recklessness is
grounds for immediate disqualification and removal from the
facility.
Pairing: Pairings will be determined in the
staging lanes. Top ET and Modified ET will be paired at 8 cars or
less and Junior Dragsters will be paired prior to each round of
competition. All pairings will be done utilizing a "pills process"
or card draw. See staging officials for details.
Parking Procedures: Each parking space is at
least 12 feet by 70 feet. If you can fit your truck and trailer and
race vehicle pitted behind the trailer in the designated space,
please do so. Open trailers must pit in the above manner. Do not
park over the white lines and always park perpendicular to the
roadways. Under no circumstances may you block the roadways. On
Bracket Events, there are 91 Reserved Paid Parking Spaces, unless
you are the spot holder or his/her designee, please do not park in
those spaces.
Pit Vehicles: You must be 16 and have a valid
state driver’s license to operate. Pit Vehicles are NOT allowed in
the Staging Lanes unless assisting a broken vehicle or Junior
Dragster.
Speed Limit: The speed limit for all vehicles on
the premises is 15 miles per hour and any vehicle judged to be
operating in an unsafe manner by Race Officials will be removed from
the premises.
Staging: Drivers are reminded that by staging
your vehicle, you accept all conditions of the race. Do not turn on
the STAGE OR PRESTAGE bulb if you are not prepared to make your run.
Check scoreboards to verify dial ins. Junior Dragsters will get one
pullback (from the starter only) as defined in IHRA Rulebook.
Staging Lanes: Come to the assigned staging
lanes when your class is called and follow the direction of Race
Officials. Please continue to pull forward in the lanes as they are
emptied. Once you have committed to a lane, you cannot back out or
allow other drivers to pass you. In time trials, you will have till
the end of the class to get started if you encounter problems. In
Eliminations, you have 30 seconds to proceed to the burnout box once
Officials have signaled to you. A jump box may be available in the
lanes. Drivers are reminded to stay with their vehicles in the
staging area. Crew members are limited to ONE only in the staging
lanes for all allowed classes. Staging lanes are managed by race

that vehicle has run or is eliminated, crew must leave the staging
lanes.

and to be used by the Primary Driver Only. Secondary Drivers (on
team entries) must fill out the Tech Card manually. Failure to
follow these requirements may result in not getting points. All
drivers must sign the waiver on the back of the Tech Card every
week.
